new paint job with gold leaf
« on: June 28, 2010, 02:00:19 PM »
I thought this may be of interest. I got this nackered old grid off ripp off bay a while ago. Patched it together for the summer.
I thought it rather drab so I have adjusted the cosmetics accordingly. It must have worked because somebody tried to steal it. I came home to find the ignition barrel ripped out and left on the road. They failed to start it ha ha.
Here is the original look

Here is the processing part.

Here is the bike with the busted barrel. This is how it looks now. I think it looks better like. I laquered the bare metal. I have used 23 ct gold leaf and that one shot stuff.

I love cool custom jobs about as much as I do restorations.  Great job!

The person who tried to steal it must have been a real moron.   :D

AWESOME! I love 1 shot! it's the best stuff ever. it'll last a long time, too. and almost no prep is necessary. it breaks all the rules of painting and does a great job.

I really like seeing hand painted logos, lettering and striping.

I wish more people would ask me to do this type of stuff. on homes and bikes. murals on houses, stuff like this on bikes, is so much funner than just a color and a stripe or whatev.

bike looks great. and personalized. way to go! punk rock.

Yea cheers glad You like it, I figured as it's a budget wreck I could experiment on it ha ha.

I just hope nobody tries to nick it again.

Yea I wanted something to write so I put my website address on there. It's much more fun to ride than the clump of solid red
that it was before. It's psycological #$%* based on the appearance like.
Before = courrier barge
after = cool, ish
 :)
