Got the rear brakes sorted, parts ordered for the front brakes and the petcock. In the meantime, the correct 5.5mm fuel line came in and I was able to put on a spare tank and hear the bike run again.
I got her up to 80mph and through all 5 gears. She runs pretty well. There's a slight bit of loading up at idle and I've yet to figure out if she likes choke or not when cold, but she pulls hard and shifts nicely.
I know there's some slop in the points or points plate, so I won't chase a carb tuning issue until the timing is resolved. I have plans for a points replacement, so that's the next step, then the final fine tuning on the carbs (I'd say they're at 90% or better already).
I did notice a very small oil leak from the left side cover. It only started dripping after I parked the bike, so it's not horrible. I see some oil around the shifter shaft. I have NOT pulled the side cover yet, but I suspect the shift shaft or sprocket seal or the like.
I did some searching and found some stuff about 550's and 750's, but what all is involved if I have to replace some seals under the left side cover? I've done similar stuff on my Yamaha XS650's, but haven't even pulled the cover to verify where the leak is coming from on the Honda yet. Advice or a link to a "how-to" thread or article for those oil seals?
