MY 1975 400F SS
« on: July 03, 2010, 03:51:21 PM »
I got my 75 Honda 400f SS back in 96 from my dad as a graduation present. My dad got the bike back in 77 and road it until 1980. from there it sat in our basement until 96 when i told him i wanted it. i took the bike out of the basement changed all of the fluids and rebuilt the carbs. the bike started right up on the first try i was shocked. The bike only had 6000 miles on it. I took the bike with me when i left for the Air Force, and road it for the next 4 years. during that time it got knocked over twice in a parking lot. Now that i have my own house it is time to fix it up and get her going again. i stripped the bike down to the frame and repainted it now its time to rebuild the engine.

i could not sleep tonight, the stuck cylinder was making me mad.  with some advice from Bodi i heated the cylinder with a torch and to my surprise it came right off. tomorrow its time to remove the piston rings and inspect the lower end

Good luck with the project AranUC. I'm almost done with my 400F restoration and can't wait for the day it finally starts.
