hello everyone.  i'm new to the board.  just picked up my first sohc a few weeks ago.  i'm currently in the process of dismantling it, and i will be consulting you guys for advice, etc. during the re-build.  so i figured i'd get a thread started to introduce myself and my bike.

what it looked like the day i got it.

what it currently looks like

the frame and front end look are in good shape and were done right.  everything else was half-assed and it shows.  so i'm taking it apart and putting it back together right.

will try to get more detailed pictures later.  look forward to learning about these old honda's

welp, have not really done much on this yet.  got a couple questions and ideas i'd like to throw out there.

first, the springer front end is painted black but i believe that it is chrome underneath.  i would like to remove the paint but not ruin the chrome underneath.  would aircraft remover ruin the chrome?

second, i forgot my other question

i want to paint the tank to look like the american flag with anonized paint.  what color do you think i should paint the frame/fender? white?
i also plan on making the sissy bar out of a chain (a la indian larry's chain of mystery).
