Sears Mini bike?
« on: July 05, 2010, 10:00:30 PM »
My friend is getting his early 80's minibike back from its long rest in his Fathers garage. It still will run but it needs attention. Anybody know of a good source of info for these old minibikes? I dont have have a picture yet, We are trying to find some info cause we both have kids aged 4-8 that will run it ragged as soon as its safe! Im assuming its a Briggs but not sure.. From his memory its orange frame with black plastic tank. Pull start. Any help finding info would be appreciated. I thought Google would be full of info. Might not be looking for the right site. His new 77 750f needed a partner in the ride south from Ma.
 Thanks

From my searching the best one would of been a 2 speed from that time period. It was not a two speed and he claims it would beat the z-50. Two stroke search is on!

If it still has the Sears model number on it, Sears may still have parts for it.  Just last year, I got belts for some 1950s shop tools, original part numbers!

If it has a Briggs or Tecumseh motor, parts are readily available.  Their respective websites have parts diagrams and engine owners manuals.  And Sears as well.

I do love the internet. ;D

I recently too acquired a mini bike for my son daughter [tomboy]. Motor it came with did not run good so pulled it off and bought a 6.5hp for it!
The oldminibikes.com website is very good.
