workin on my k6 all day and still need some advice

help a noob out? i have been working on my carbs all day. i fully cleaned everything inside. all the jets and tubes were cleaned. i even put new inline filters in. once i got it all back together i took it for a quick putt to check things out. this is whats happening

when i am putt'n around at low rpms, i have to have the choke on almost all the way. otherwise its very sluggish and sputtery. as i go up in rpms i have to slowly turn the choke off. the higher the rpms and faster i go, the less choke is required.

it was pretty hot here in new hampshire today, so i doubt it needed to be "warmed up". and i was riding it for about 25 minutes and still no change in behavior.

a little about the bike. 75 750k6. pods, rather open 4-1, 110 mj, air screw all the way in. i dont want to start another "pod" thread, just sayin what it has. i built it from the ground up over the past two years from a bucket of parts that sat for 20+ years. i used what i had and what i could afford. :)


it seems lean? thats what i guessed. but i put the air screws all the way in and put larger jets in. (had 105s). any help? thanks

 ??? Don't put your air screws all the way in. They should be 1 turn out, see how it runs and then adjust. See this thread in FAQ

brought them all the way in and backed them out about 1 turn each. same thing. no noticeable diffrence.   ????

 ??? plugged slow jets? Air leak? What condition are your intakes in?

With pods and more free-flowing exhaust you're most likely going to have to go up more than one step on the jetting.

issue is resolved....however the old timers arent going to like this :)

i know it had to be running lean. i was pretty sure bigger jets would solve the issue. being the tinker'er that i am i took my 105 jets that i ws not using, found one of those precision screw driver sets, found the size that slipped right in, and took the size up and bored through them. :) im not saying this is a permenant fix, nor am i suggesting anywone does this to there jets. but i had a spare set and i got lucky with the sizes. i had 110s in it now i have 110+. i am going to order a jet kit next to see if i can dial it in more. although, i cant argue with the results. this is the smothest and nicest the bike has ran sincei put her together.
