1983 Honda CB900 bold'or how much in Oz
« on: July 23, 2010, 02:27:58 AM »
Hello fellow members, just by chance I was chatting to a small parts shop, mostly deals in lawn mowers.  Got talking and turns out he has a 1983 CB900 bold'or that he wants to get rid of.  I haven't seen it yet and I don't know much about the CB900s, engine obviously needs a tear down, he thinks just a cylinder hone, probably $1200 in parts if it's not too bad, and the rest of it is sitting in boxes or is on the bike.  He has about 4 exhausts for it etc.  Hopefully I'll have a look but just wondering what these would go for.  I'll do more research but thought I'd ask the forum first.

Cheers,

Big brother of the 750 twin cam with same problems

sticky cam chain tensioners
alternator brushes/rotors/reg-rec
drain the carbs if stood for 7 days, tank if stood for 14

plus all the other big 4 normal wear out bits

Oh and you need the special tool plus LOTS of time to re-shim the valves
