I have a drain screw plug from a PD42A carb bowl. I want put it in a carb from a '75 750k carb bowl which is 2 hrs away. Please comment if you know above interchange between these two so the trip isn't wasted. I told Tom that someone here would know, to save us a trip if it won't work.

Had a wonderful trip, but got the models wrong so...no, you can't put a bowl plug screw from a '78k 750 into bowl from a '75 550.
end of story.
Now if someone wants to give me the sizes of a '75 cb550 bowl plug/drain screw, I can try to make one for our new member.
