« on: July 11, 2010, 10:02:49 AM »
the manuals say its always rings.I rebored and installed new rings,so what then?I did NOT yet do valve stem seals.Could that be the culprit?I dont understand it.I pulled my head and the bores are good, you can still see crosshatching from the hone(after about 6-700 miles)The bike fires right up and no loss of power???
its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.

Probably.  Replace them with genuine honda valve seals since they have a 'washer' embeded in the top part of the seal unlike the other brands and will provide a better service life.

Worn out valve seals = oil running past the valve guides and into the chamber.

Are you losing using burning much oil?

Well if the seals don't fix it I'm out of ideas.  Good luck with it.
