Sparked a wire now dead
« on: July 13, 2010, 04:15:34 AM »
Trying to change out my cracked headlight bucket I sparked a wire somehow and now I got nothing. No fuses are blown. When I turn the key on I get no dash lights or any power to crank. And kicking doesn't work either. Since electricity is still black magic to me where would be a good place to start?

When you say no fuses are blown, did you actually test em? or are you going only by visual inspection?
The most likely cause is a blown fuse if you saw a spark, or maybe it's simply a matter of something not reconnected properly.
Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators.
We haven't met yet.

Definitely check the fuses with a dummy light or continuity meter if you still use the glass tube fuses, they have a tendency to blow at the caps.
