You did good, bud.

Very nice bike.  Keep it stock....PLEASE.

Yeah the 550's are far and few between and much harder to find than the 750's, especially still original stock like yours seem to be. I agree with traveler, PLEASE keep it that way!!

For a original 75 Cb550 that seems to be in very good shape by your pics and road worthy right now $1800 is not bad. As long as your happy with it that's all that matters. I bought this 76 CB750 last year and gave $2400 for it. More than what I originally wanted to pay for a bike, its not completely stock but it was in such good shape and had only 17000 miles I couldn't pass it by.

sherwin williams auto paint stores have a tool called the "color eye" that can match up paint codes, even metallics. with most color codes come a set of different chips of different batches of paint the factory used. compare the chips and see wich one's closest or imagine how it would look in neon green with alot more metalflake!! ;) 1 quart is more than enough for the tank and sidecovers. you'll have enough left over to pimp out your swingarm or something.

Welcome to the forum! I'm from Anderson but am always riding around Indianapolis, usually on the northside.

You'll be in good hands on this site man. I have have a '78 CB550k that I'm working on now. This is my first real bike, and the first Honda I've ever messed with. I grew up in an all Harley, Triumph and BSA family so I didn't know a whole lot about these things. This website has been a great wealth of knowledge for me so far, and I've gotten tons of great advice and help with my bike. Welcome to the world of SOHC's.
