The battery on my CB400F wasn’t holding a charge to well and the other day I left the ignition on and completely drained it.  Now I can only get it to charge to just above 9 volts.  Does anyone know which type it is, and if there are any decently priced ($40.00 - $60.00) available for my motorcycle?

My battery died I have a 78 CB550, just bought a Yuasa battery for $53.00, Part # YB12-A. They are local here in Phila have a good reputation. The Cycle Center put the fluid in and had it charged when I picked it up.
Google and find out if any dealers in your area

I have had good luck with batterys from wal-mart.
They are in the price range you are talking about. Think I paid $36 or $38 for them.
I have them in 2 CB750s and they have been in use for almost 2 years with no problems.
Just take your old one in for core deposit.

Yuasa batteries can be found at almost any
auto Zone or O'Reilly's auto parts.
Sears makes a nice Die Hard that will fit also.
Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.

Thanks everyone,
I'll take a look at each of these, and since I somehow managed to damage my trickle charger, I'll be picking one of those up too.

I would strongly recommend a AGM battery. No leaky acid, half the self discharge rate, and lasts much longer. Pay 20-30 bucks extra and forget the battery for a long time. One acid stained pipe would pay for three batteries.  :)
