Hello everyone,
I'm making this thread to keep track of the progress of my first motorcycle project, a 1973 Cb500. I purchased the bike back in February, only now finding the time to really tear into it with my graduation from college. Not only will this help me and others to see some amount of progress taking place, but it will also allow me to ask some questions as I run into issues, as this is a whole to experience for me. I'll let the pictures do the talking and talk later. The first ones are the bike as I picked it up, progressing to where it is as of now.
When I first got the bike, I knew from the get go that it was having carb issues. From actually picking up the bike I slowly started going through things to get better situated. Things like the tank and brakes were also needing some TLC, so I have already begun that process. As for me actually being able to start it, I am needing some help with a few things. At the moment, the biggest issue I have (That i know of) is that of one of the carbs missing a leaf spring to hold in the main jet. Is there anything that can be substituted for this piece, or some sort of home-made thing that will work? Any help with that would be great. I have more stuff to go over tomorrow, but for now I'll leave this as the first post.
