They're not for everyone, but there's something about a late '70s, early '80s full-dresser with a Vetter fairing.

I like.

Back in the early 90's my girlfriend had a 76 or 75 cb550ss in orange .I absolutely fell in love(with the bike((she was great but thats another story))So after riding #$%* on my girlfriends bike I knew that would NOT do.So I went and bought a cheap  $400 Z or kh 400 kaw.Cafe'd it out ,found a  really cool 2-1 for it ,superbike bars.It was cheap and thats what started my love affair with old Jap bikes. ;D

You got it Andy. I will get a road pic soon. Regarding those filters, when I got the bike there was some nasty stuff in the tank which I cleaned. That is why the K4 is my only bike with the inline filters. I got them from my dealer. I think they give me some piece of mind as the tank looks pretty darn nice in there. Below is a pic of the filter for you.

Thanks Johnie very useful. I wonder what the pore size of the filter is? Ill see if I can find out. Any indication they are working?

cheers

I have not had any fuel delivery issues so I assume they are working. I did cut them apart after last summer (after I had cleaned the tank) and they were pretty clean. So I think my tank is pretty clean now and there is not much to filter. I may take them off soon to give it try.

Hey Johnie I noticed on the packaging in the photo and also here:

http://www.fullthrottletahoe.com/fullthro/publicstore/images/catalog-specs/09SnowPages/09Snow%20441.pdf

that you have an oil injection filter! Interesting that it also passes fuel.

before and after.i deleted the incomplete chrome trim and had that edge painted silver, the guy just went off the inside of the side covers by eye,he wanted A4 photos of it before i stripped it to get the stripes correct it had been painted years ago and looked to have been sunrise orange so i thought ide stay the same, wet looking candy red crossed my mind with large flakes, its quite metallic but dosent show it here not bad for 500 bucks"johnnos custom cycles" at currumbin did it,he likes these old bikes,i was a bit dubious when i first asked about it glancing at all the harleys with skulls that looked like real xrays and fire that looked like real fire,i thought this might be a bit below him but he seems to have taken a shine to it(pun semi intended).

Where's Ray? (myhondas) He has one of the most brilliant candy flake sunrise orange paint jobs I have ever seen.

Thank you for your kind words Schmthaus !  I totally missed this thread somehow. Must have too busy rebuilding the Magna. I have taken marmalade to a number of bike nights. Here are some more pictures. And, I love seeing other bikes like Johnie's K4...especially when they wear some of my bikes parts. It is sort of like being an organ donor.

Very nice there Ray. If I am not mistaken your K4 was in the VJMC mag a few months ago too. It is a stunning bike. Did you paint it your self?

I wish.....No, I had a professional in Michigan(Pontiac area) who specializes in custom paint jobs on choppers do it. I need to get the original side stripes on it and get it back up there for him to clear coat it over the stripes and the signatures. Sounds like a winter project huh...not taking it off the road till the bad weather comes..Next, got to find some time to clean the bike.... been riding and not cleaning....not like me at all.
