Yeah, but in Europe they have to kill you up close and personal since they can't do it with a gun.  Its much more meaningful that way.  Way more civilized, no?

Interesting concept, "Civilized killing".  Sounds like a government inspired operation.

Can't do it with a gun in Europe?  I call BS.  Are all the governments there so intrusive that the black market is completely eliminated?
Are all machinists so regulated and well observed that they can't fashion a firearm out of metal stock?

Anyway, is it so difficult to make a blow gun?
Bows? Arrows?  Even sling shots can be deadly.

I think if someone took the time to kill me with a handmade slingshot, I'd have to respect that.  I mean, in between dying breaths and all that.  If someone took that much time and effort, I must have done something of import and note.

When they take the drugs from the drug dealers then I will believe they can keep the criminals from having illegal guns. I am glad you are unhurt, I heard a nearby shot while alone at a stop light, I didn't need to wait for green.

Aint that the truth, I had a green, but the entire intersection was frozen. Me not having anything but my helmet to stop a potential retaliation, I decided that it was time to go.

... you mean like more money than the sling thrower?  Or, the >possibility< of having more money than the sling thrower.

You are deluding yourself that you are safe from any manner of weapons.  My guess is that, so far, you have just been lucky.

Further, while I hope it doesn't happen, societal breakdowns, such as occur during natural disasters, often lead to the weak being preyed upon by the strong or a roving band of miscreants.  If you have food or water or whatever, that's coveted by the roving band, does it matter which weapon they use to deprive you of possessions or, to them, your worthless life?  If you're dead, you aren't likely to report them when societal norms eventually return.

Don't judge the good times as a norm for the bad times.  And, don't expect that you can remain invisible for your entire life and still live in a community.

Think cheaper.  Like a sense of humor.

Not many people in Chicago would confuse the last few years with good times, the Norman Lear show of the same name notwithstanding.

Of all the things I am, invisible is not one of them, for better or worse.

I don't think it'd be hard to find a gun (hand gun) in Europe, here in Oz you can just ask your friendly Hell's Angel's, or any other outlaw club with a link to a US outlaw club and if you can afford it, they'll get you whatever you want. My wife's nephew was being hassled by his girlfriend's ex, so he bought a long barrelled S&W .44 Magnum for 3000 bucks which included 100 rounds of ammo, apparently it came over from California in a shipment of after-market Harley parts. Obviously customs at both ports weren't looking too hard..........  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Whoah, now you are taking money out of the CIA black ops funding, they don't like that.

Gotta have money for tomorrow's benevolent dictator's coup, right?  :)

That was sarcasm cause I know it isn't going to happen.

Nope, no sarcasm, who do you think put the bloods and crips in power and supplied their drugs from Columbia?

The DEA?

Ever heard of Mena, Arkansas?
