Hi everyone. I am a very new ( 3 days) owner of a 1973 CB500. I got it for 100.00 and it is running. It looks rough, spray painted black tank and left cover. No right side cover but, the fenders are in perfect condition. Going to send it to a mechanic this weekend to rebuild the carbs and give it a once over to see what it might need. I will be tearing it down to the frame and building it back up. Looking through the forums I see some like to keep theirs stock and some like to cafe their bikes. I will be in between those two camps. All I know for sure is the color I will end up with. I will powder coat the frame a chocolate brown. The tank will be a cream color with the lower edge the same brown and an offset strip of brown down the middle. The fenders will be bobbed and painted cream and brown. The rims will be brown with cream spokes and brown hubs. So far that's all I am sure of.
I will post some pics as soon as I can take them and all along the journey. Oh yea I want to do the colored gauges in cream and the covers in clear or smoke with fins.
