Hi from uk
« on: July 16, 2010, 04:19:36 PM »
Hi folks just found this site after buying a 76 550k. This will be my second 550 (never should have sold the first one)
Its currently fitted with comstars and some tacky custom bits (pics to follow) its good to find a site for these bikes there aint much over here.
I just scored some 78 type carbs from ebay, as mine are butchered and will be fitting them tommorow.
Ive a few questions if i may?
ive read that cb650 cams are a performance up grade, is this any model and what other bits would i need.
also the rectifier has a corroded off terminal, whats the alternative options (a local source is quoting £175 direct from honda!)
anyway im off for a look round the site speak soon take care FLC.

Welcome to the forum. You're in the right place for technical help, information or just for blaggin' (my speciality). There's also a UK version of this forum, it's not as active as this one but is steadily getting busier. Check it out:

managed to fit my new carbs, with a bit of head scratching
seams that they were from a 78 us import, the guys at david silver spares managed to id them from the serial no's
and get me the correct cables as they were a lot different. the bikes running spot on just need to source a correct airbox (these are different too)
the she hits the street. :)
