Rear whell spoke question
« on: July 17, 2010, 04:09:34 pm »
I have a nice rear rim off a 1972 CB750. It is in very good condition, no dents dings or rust.
But it does have 2 broken spokes. They are not next to each other, but about 3rd of a way around the rim from each other.
I am guessing maybe over tightening or just plain fatigue, but not sure. The rim came that way so I really don't know what the cause was. All other spokes are tight and rim spins true.
Anyway, does anyone have another theory as to why they broke?
And does anyone have a couple extra spokes kicking around they may be interested in parting with?
Don't have to be new ones.

Thanks for any input.

They usually break from overtightening, or from hitting something. If the rim is running true, then hard to tell.

If someone else doesn't perk up, I probably have some. Inside or outside?
