Original Honda pads might help, the EBC material is known for it's Ned Beatty ala Deliverance ability to squeal like a pig.

I read a post from HondaMan mentioning that EBC will provide a 3M shim for free that is supposed to reduce the vibration, and hence the squeal.  I emailed them, and almost immediately received a response asking for my mailing address.  That was 3 weeks ago, and after 2 unanswered emails sent, I finally just called them.

Whoever I spoke to on the phone took my info and promised to send them out. I will report back, because I just swapped to braided lines, new Kevin piston and all new fluid, and it is the worst squeal I've ever heard.  Beyond embarrassing, it hurts my ears even with full-face helmet on!!!!

I'll try all these other moves too - because this Noise has to go!

All my squeaking problems stopped after the drilled disc went on.

This may sound to easy but my squeal was removed with thorough cleaning of the rotor with brake cleaner and a couple passes of the pads on a sheet of 220 sandpaper.

did you take the wheel or caliper off to perform the cleaning?

The caliper was off and tied away from the rotor and covered. I made sure the wheel was completely covered to keep the cleaner off of it as well. Don't get the cleaner on anything but the rotor !!

What I'm suggesting is that in all these repairs that got the brake to stop squealing the rotor/pad/caliper were realigned when put back together. This is why these repairs sometimes work and sometimes do not.
Squeal is from the contact angle of the pad and rotor and the vibration it creates.

I've got the same issue and have tried just about everything EXCEPT there's a thread on here somewhere where someone noticed that the pivot pin for the caliper arm had worn and would allow enough motion that they shimmed it (somehow).

Is the pivot pin #13 in this diagram?

Thanks

I use my brakes to predict the weather. If they squeal loudly it's going to rain. If they don't squeal much, it's going to be a nice day. Not sure I want to get rid of that!  ;D

I wouldn't doubt if that is more accurate than ANY of the weathermen around here.... :)

I would love to get rid of this squeal, because it has become nerve wracking and headache inducing!

Pin =13 arm = 12... watch out for the 2 seals ( 41 ) if you take it apart. With the caliper undone the arm must be free and move left and right  ( take the adjusting screw, nut, spring off too ).

Something I seem to remember, it has been a while, is that you are supposed to check and adjust the floating distance with a feeler guage.  I mention this because I do not see anyone ever mentioning it.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I did use the feeler - but have to admit it was a pain to get in there correctly, and I ended up going by "feel" in the end with the spinning of the wheel - settling on when it JUST stopped spinning from friction.

I've recently experienced an ear-piercing squeal from the front brake also, which I foolishly assumed was just what these old Hondas did - with no definitive remedy.
After reading this thread, I figured I'd take a shot at correcting the problem.
I wiped both sides of the front rotor with a rag containing a few sprays of brake parts cleaner (note: I did not spray directly on the rotor) - being careful to rotate the wheel to access all areas while not touching other parts. Then, I lightly sanded both sides with very fine (220 grit) sandpaper to remove the dark "glaze" present on the rotor. Lastly, I followed up with another wipe of the rag and brake parts cleaner, making sure the rotor was clean and dry.
No more squeal! I'm not sure how long this fix will last but it was squeak-free on my entire commute to work.
I'm sure there's a logical scientific explanation to this but I like to think of it as magic!

I've tangled with that issue a number of times and it seemed like a verity of slotions worked (seemed like something different each time) but only for a while, then reoccurred.
In the past 6 months I've developed the most effective long term solution to date:

BTW; I also recommend removing the adjustment Screw, nut & spring; then put them in a safe place where they'll never be seen from again!!!

Yes out of sheer embarassment from squeaky brakes.

I am pretty sure this is what EBC is sending me - if they ever get their #$%* together.

Also, what are you talking about with the adjustment mechanism????

So based on the diagram this would let the caliper float freely & take care of squeal?  Or is that only if you have squeal before application of the brakes?
