update cb750 CAFE' with facebook video/Wiring problem? :D
« on: January 29, 2010, 12:11:17 PM »
So the Cafe's not fighting to stay alive anymore! With the help of a charged battery, my Parts'n more rectifier/regulator must not be wired right...  I had my good friend John take this short clip of the girl running slightly cold. I've read on the sight that the stock K5 750 runs at 6500 RPM's but in this clip it hits around 7200 rpms with no inner engine mods just pipe and filter/jets. Didn't know for sure but will changing out the cam for a hot cam/836 kit boost the rpms?

It would be great to see a FAQ sheet about wiring up solid state regulator / rectifier's from diff. models as it seems allot of people including me are having trouble. Mine's from parts'n more and the wiring diagram, if you would call it that, was totall crap.

wired up right now is

 BIKE TO RAGULATOR unit

black-white wire with red line
green-green
white-black

BIKE TO RECTIFIER unit

yellows-yellows
green-black
red with white stripe-white

this so far was the only way it didn't melt wires, short fuses, or turn ignition on... cb750 k5

Any update on this? I'm running into the same issue with the universal rectifier/regulator from Partsnmore. When I plug in the rectifier, the ignition turns on without the key. :/

are you still having trouble with your partsnmore stuff? sorry this is a bit late!
The parts-n-more set up made me a bit iffy, so I got ahold of Carpy for a new setup with color matching wires with plugs. Makes for install in 2min!
