Here's the recent thread where we talked about doing this.
I've got a 75 F wheel coming in the mail (spokes w/ disc brake) which everyone says should pretty much be a bolt on mod. I'm planning on lacing it to a 16" rim for that fat tire.
I also have a GL1000 spoked double-disc wheel for the front that, just like eurban told me before, doesn't fit as a bolt on mod. I'm in the process of collecting all of the GL1000 parts to replace my entire front end - trees, forks, brakes etc. This is what you'll be in for if you really want to get rid of the ugly comstars. I was pretty amazed when I found that this is really the most direct way to go. Eurban suggested that K rotors bolted up to the GL1000 wheel might get it to fit in the F forks, but I don't want to buy K rotors that I won't be able to use if they don't work. At least when I bought the wheel, I knew I'd get it to fit w/ a Gold Wing front end.
Anyways, good luck. Your bike looks great by the way.
