[Sam Green Racing]

took the Mike Reick tuned Suzuki into the 9s for the first time this weekend at the Kalajoki drag strip in Finland.
After just a few meetings, Juha recorded a 9.995 on the normally aspirated bike on his way to the final.
That was where the good news ended, Juha finished runner up.
Well done mate.

Hmmm. This thread has me thinking about setting the Seeley up for the drag-strip. I wonder how light it would be with a minimal fuel tank, seat, no lights. Plus, there is a strip about 90 miles from here.... Hmmm....

The average CR weighs in around 380lbs, I'm sure 360 should be possible.

A Cr only weighs 380? Geez, when I put my Seeley on the Jenny Craig program, I think the rolling chassis, with a single cast-iron front disk, weighed 180, and the motor, with no carbs or exhaust, was about the same. I weighed the complete bike wet, (not a full gas tank) on a truck scale, with a resolution of 20 lbs, and it was about 400 lbs (the readout jumped from 380, to 400, to 420, and back). I wonder how much the alloy, spoke wheels, and magnesium rear hub on the CR weigh, compared to my Morris wheels. As I recall, my front wheel, with tire, bearings, and axle, no disks, is 28 lbs.

Juha will not be crowned a Finnish drag racing champion. He needed to win the last two rounds but he was put out with a bad oil leak.
On the plus side, he took the Mike Reick tuned Suzuki to a new personal best time of 9.932 seconds.
Determined not to be out done by father, son Jesse qualified number 1 and after setting a new personal best of 12.87 seconds on his junior drag bike, he pulled a red light in the final by just +0.007 seconds. Well done jesse, maybe next time.
