rear rim dimensions for 78cb550K4
« on: July 20, 2010, 11:52:59 AM »
I'm looking for a rear wheel for my 78 cb550K4.   my hub is cracked, i've been riding this way for 2 yrs, but I think I'm playing with fire.  I've already had one shipped from california to canada, the guy swore it was off a 550, but it was 18x2.15, which didn't fit.

does anyone know what the rim dimensions on the 77-78 cb550 are? could it be 18x1.85??

also, does anyone have this rear wheel to sell???

Clarity: Do you really need a wheel which is the hub, spokes and rim; or just a hub, or just a rim?

I thiink the 2.15 (rim only) should fit fine, even if its wider than stock, which I think is a 1.85, tho we need a 500/550 guy to confirm. Where were you running into problems?

The "wheel" from CA was the hub, spokes and rim, altogehter I take it? Certainly if the hub was off the wrong bike, no go. But the rim only should lace to the 550 no problem.

Those are the tire sizes. The rims are narrower.

I need a hub, my rim and spokes are fine, but I figured I'd find a complete wheel to save me trouble relacing spokes......the dimension is not 18x2.15, this did not fit. I'm 98% sure it's 18x1.85

this is what I'm trying to confirm.

does anyone know if the cb500 and the cb550F dimensions are 18X1.85??

Yes to the rims.  But, there are variations among hubs and or spacers for the rear axle/ rear fork.
