May buy Honda 450A Need advice Please
« on: April 13, 2013, 01:34:16 PM »
This is my first post and question, so please be kind, I did a search on my question and found several things, still need advice, please. I've found a 450A that's in excellent showroom condition, other than the fact the gears/transmission? won't engage, is this a common problem, with a simple fix, or is it complicated and expensive, I can't fix it myself, just don't know enough about doing that. I can't give any more info, yet, I need to physically see the bike for myself and ask questions. So, at this point any advice would be appreciated. TIA

Unless you can fix it yourself, like you said you can't, then it is going to be expensive. It could be as simple as some e-clip or something dumb like that, a screw backed out. Or, you could have stuff real broken or something bound up, who knows

It is not a common problem.  Without more details, it is hard to say what the fix would entail. But, most transmission issues require the cases to be split which would require the engine to be pulled out. If you say you can't fix it, you can't.
Keep looking.
