Fork Circlip Neede: Where to buy/find? K5 750..
« on: May 04, 2010, 08:06:52 PM »
Hello,  I'm looking for a Fork Circlip for my '75 CB750.  Took forks off to find one missing and have also come to find that they're discontinued and have not found any pattern replacement equivalents.  Does anybody know where to find one? or have one/few I could take off there hands?  I imagine this IS an important part? So the seal doesn't deform/create unnecessary wear?

If you take the other ut, you can get one at a bearing supply or hydraulics place.

or bend your own wire clips if  you are truly stuck..

Garth,

I took my K4 forks off yesterday and, looking at the volume of rust in the circlip area, I can't imagine my circlips will be reusable.  Were you ever able to score replacements?  I'm going to put off replacing my fork seals until I can be sure I can clip them back in.

Fore reference, I'm needing:

SKU: 94521-48000
CIRCLIP (INNER) (48MM) (Honda Code 0255349) (NOT AVAILABLE)

If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

As 745 said, check out the bearing or hydraulics supply stores, or even a well-stocked hardware store. I got a pair of standard sized circlips from a friend who works at a truck garage when I needed it last time, just had to file the opening slightly to get them to compress enough to make'em fit.... :)

And the answer is:

Fastenal.  My local retail Fastenal store was able to get me some 48mm internal rings overnight.
