CB500 frame dimension same as cb550?

I am going to have a custom tank made for my 76 550K. The tank builder says he has a cb500 frame to build the tank around. Will that work? Are the frames the same?

Yep, they're the same.   Later (77-78) CB550K and the CB550F are different, but 76K and CB550 are equal.
