Where to find awesome gas tanks
« on: August 11, 2010, 09:38:25 PM »
I have a 81 cb 650. the stock tank doesn't look nearly as cool as other stock ones. my frame looks a little different too, it raises up near the handle bars. anybody know where can get something better? cafe style? not too long, just a little flater.... thanks

Oops, my bad :-[

"Honda produced the 650 cc (honda service manual claims 627 cc, although "626cc" cast on motor) series inline four cylinder overhead cam street bikes as their last line of SOHC bikes made. It makes decent power for the aging SOHC technology and is still a sharp looking roadbike".

my tank is just raised up in the front a little, and doesn't have the flat look that I like. any fixes? are different year tanks interchangable?

CB 650 appears to be the last of an undying breed. Went well into the '80'a as far as I can tell s a SOHC.

If you look for "honda cb triple clamps" on ebay you finda bazzillion of 650 parts compared to a few other models. I assume other parts would  have similar search results.

There is a thread with a CX-500 tank on a 750, and there is a couple pics of two different bikes with that. It looks cool, might be shaped a bit more like a 350f. The procedure was to change the frame tank mount location.
