Ruroh, me smells the direction of accepting an improper gift...

Sounds like an alderman is in the trouble.

Ok so it's all official and I'm back to the world and reality.

On May 24th 2010, I was arrested by:

15 uniformed police officers
8 plain clothes detectives
6 swat members
2 bicycle officers
1 motorcycle officer
2 helicopter officers

MY charges:

1ct Racketeering
1ct Mob action
1ct Tax evading
(No clue where they got all of these from)

4cts Posession of stolen property
6cts Receiving stolen property
(Apparently they figured the bike plus some other stuff)

1ct Bribery of a city official
1ct Bribery of a state official
1ct Bribery of a federal official
(Lumped in with my association with the City Alderman)

4cts Damage to public property
(My accident with the bus..... I laughed openly in court and called them all idiots, hence the contempt counts)

1ct Public indecency
(We'll never speak of it again.... but the bus tore off my pants when it hit me)

2cts Theft over $300
1ct Theft over $10,000
(Apparently then think they can stack theft charges with receiving charges)

4cts Assaulting a police officer
(No one announced themselves as cops and I hit them back when they told me I was under arrest)

1ct Attempting to evade arrest
(See above)

6cts Contempt of court
(I flat refused to listen to the prosecution make false accusations and openly lie in court and demanded, among other things, that I be returned to my cell and be tried in absentia)

And after several months of court visits and a small stint in the county jail.... They dropped everything due to lack of evidence.

The Alderman was removed from office and no charges were brought against him.

No articles in the paper... No stories in the local news... Noone calling out for retribution.

And they say Chicago can sweep stuff under the rug.

No word on my things from my shop and home, apparently the IL Dept. of Revenue thinks they own them now. But papers are in place for me to get all of my things back.

Anything else anyone wants to know....???

Here's a tip.... next time you get hit by a bus.... Don't be a nice guy about it. Just sue them until they die.  >:( >:(

Well, I hope you learned your lesson Havoc.

Apparantley the only solution to everything in the good ol' US is lawsuit, lawsuit, lawsuit.

Holy crap man, guess that explains why nobody could get ahold of you. I can't believe they logged that much against you, falsely, and then dropped it all like nothing happened. You probably could sue them just for putting you through the hassle. Hope you get the shop and your stuff back soon.

I'm not sure what I did... but I'm going to "quietly" petition the city to have him removed for false accusations and defamation of public character.

IL revoked everything official.

License, business name ownership, tax numbers, plates and registrations.

All because of the TAX issues. Which there are NONE.

They were worried about me suing this broke (city, state, country) before.... wait until next week when my peperwork is finished.

As for my shop.... at least I still have my lease agreement. So I have a shop still.... but it's empty.  :'(

34 police officers for one man?  You must be one hell of a man; like a #$%*ing tree trunk!  Did you punch the bus out or something? ;D

Amazing story Joe, Chicago sure seems to produce some great lawyers and politicians doesn't it.

Maybe this whole thing will result in some street cred with the local M/C's and you can get some business through the shop. ;)

If I were closer I'd offer to lend some tools or something.

Hang in Joe, they've all made themselves look like #$%*s now.....and they don't stand a chance.

Would you believe me if I said I was 2hours away from Chicago?

I wouldn't be surprised if lawyers made up 90% of our town's documentable business.

Glad your back.... hopefully none of your stuff was damaged when impounded.

Do I understand correctly that this all stems from you fighting back about THEIR bus trying to (successfully) run you over?
