So I thought I might share something with ya I have been working on. Not trying to sell/push anything on anyone, just a alittle look into the madness which is my life as of late. As most of ya know I am almost done with Barberschool and about ready to start working in my pop's shop that has been around for over 40something years here in Chicago --->

One day at school I was using my plain/polished Andis Master clipper when I thought why couldnt I make it alittle more custom ?  Then my big ass brain started working overtime and I came up with doing a line of custom clippers in different "Hot Rod" inspired colors (see below):
"Blood Red"

"Barbacide Blurple"

"Elxir Orange"

"Shear White"

"Antiseptic Green"

I also have a "Heavy Texture Black" clipper that is shot in the same coating S&S does their engine cases in (looks badass)..
More pics of the above colors can be seen on the shop's Facebook page --->
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Chicago-IL/Joes-Barber-Shop-Chicago/178010742775

I teamed up with my buddy Sean who owns http://www.ThePowderPro.com, came up with a way to get these things coated and not take all day, worked out/came up/created some custom colors, and the results are above. As far as I searched around NO ONE offers clippers in such bright/deep/durable finishes as these. Not looking to get rich offa this, just have it as a custom "service" if you will that the shop offers to the barber community..

If anyone wants to snag one of these clippers hit me up @ JoesBarbershop1@aol.com...
Price for a brand new, in the box, completly custom clipper is $199.00 plus shipping...

Well seeing as how I am continuing to go bald andam currently one of those guys who just goes with a #1 all the way around....buying one of these would actually be an investment! It seems silly to pay someone 15$ or so each time I need a trim! except when I go to my wife's hairdressers as her boobs alonme are worth that!!!

Dennis

P.S. Glad to hear things are going well Joe! I have actually checked out your pop's shop online a while back and it seems like a really cool place. Sorta like a "Beauty Shop" for guys but with cool guys instead of Queen Latifah!! Didn't realize you had a King though. I thought you were still rocking the Duc?!?!

Over the winter a friends co-worker came up to me and made me an offer on my Ducati I couldnt pass up.
I took that cash and was able to find a 98 HD Road King Classic with literaly no miles on it. Havent done much to it so far except lower it,
change the bars, ditch the mufflers for straight thru fishtails, etc. -->
Winter plans call for a fat 21'' front wheel, lots of powdercoating, new brakes, etc...

This is true. The Andis Master has a adjustment lever that allows the blade to go from a 000 to a 1.5 blade so it is perfect for guys that buzz their heads..
If you want one hit me up...

Very cool proteal. I'll try to hit you up for one for my mom in a month or so.

My grampa had a barber shop on the southside. Its funny, our name is still on the shop 50 years later, while the neighborhood demographic has changed considerably. But that's chicago neighborhoods for you.

If my Wahl clippers that I bought 20 years ago ever need replacing, I may come calling.  I keep mine as short as the clippers will go, and now that I have a son he gets his buzzed about once a month.

The colors are very cool but I really dig the wrinkle finish, would it be a problem keeping the texture clean, for someone that uses them all day.

Sorry i am getting back to ya so late on this...
The wrinkle finish doesnt pose any issues as far as cleaning goes, because even though it does have texture, their is a smooth clearcoat over them (so hair/dirt/etc will literally slide right off the clipper). I am actually using a pair of these myself in the shop as I type and have had no issues (except customers trying to buy them off me ;D).....

Nice Road King!

Have you tried pimping your cutters to places like this?
http://www.rudysbarbershop.com/

I would think places like that would be all over some custom stuff like that.

I remember these.  Hair By Ernie is a collector's patch among some of the AHRMA racers in these parts- belive it or not.  I need to come up with a way to re-create the trailer side...

Anyhoo- I take it that the wrinkle finish doesn't offer any grip advantage because of the clear-coat?

I'm afraid -like a lot of people- that custom clippers is a swell idea, but man I'm tellin ya- I'M BROKE.   :'(

I even stopped waiting for Rocking M to adopt me.  Maybe it just wouldn't look right because I'm older than he is...
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

The clear that we use on the texture finish is very thin, so some of the texture can still be felt (alot more than the smooth colors)...

my wife buzzes my hair(all five of them),we always had the cheap 10 dollar machines that work for a year, last year she bought a wahl unit and says its weak compared to the "tiffany or breville and black and decker, weve adjusted the screw on the side, she cuts it so i cant tell what she means except the cheap ones could be pushed through faster and not bog down.
