idle adjustment screw problems...
« on: July 23, 2010, 07:13:17 PM »
Hey guys I checked with the manual for the idle adjustment screw, and it has it labeled as a throttle stop screw.  first off, i'd like to verify that this is the idle adjustment screw, and second off, I need to find a replacement as mine didn't come with one, does anybody know a way to make one?  I don't know if it's some sort of special screw although I'm guessing that it is, any input would be great, meanwhile I'm going to start looking for one online.

It'll probably help if you tell us what bike it is.

I have a pic only for 550, however the throttle stop screw & the idle speed screw are not the same thing. Hope this helps. I'm sure a 750 owner will chime in.

that's interesting the shop manual doesn't even describe an idle screw at all...any info on where the idle screw is?  I've checked the carbs and I know I'm a noob but I dont see them....

I found this for you. Quite different to a 550 but they are very different machines. This looks like the idle speed adjuster to me. Not my pic, just one I found in another thread.
