I don't think it's the widest tire but i run a 130 with a 16 inch rim on a 520 chain.  These frames weren't really built for wide rears.  Tires that is.

I have a 4.5 inch rear wheel on at the moment, i am going to use an offset front sprocket to make it all line up but won't have much trouble running a 150+ rear tire..

just a 4.5 rim laced to the stock hub i assume but di you have to offset the rear sprocket in order to make it fit mick

Hi mate, no, i am using GSXR stuff so its completely different. I have actually had to machine a little off the Suzuki sprocket carrier to help it all line up...

The 140 will fit a stock rim, I have even run a 150 with stock sprocket offsets.

The big tire on stock rims may not be optimal for handling, but if you mainly want more meat-on-the-street.. they will work..

On stock rims  i used to run a 140 Michelin and it worked well, some others may not.   You would be surprised what size you can squeeze in if you have to tools to do the mods.....
