If the jugs will lift off the crankcase, at least you can feel in to the bottom of the guide/pin to confirm it's not there , yes/no?
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,
If your sure it's an ignition problem; it's carbs....

I know it isn't there. It was in the baggie with my cam tensioner. But I need to separate the two heads because the valve guide has a pin on the top that locks into place between the valve head and cylinder head.

Duh!, I had forgot that the 'plastic' pin drops into the top slot first, which is indeed between head and cylinder block!

Spanner,

Exactly! All I need to do is get the heads apart, slip the cam chain guide in it's spot and put the top end back together. I am sooo close.

i had a girlfriend for 7 years.  almost married her.  didn't. had a long painful expensive breakup.  cheaper than divorce and now i'm happy with someone else.

moral of the story???? better to find out now, then when you're way down the road with nowhere to go.

this is gonna be a lovely rebuild and you're gonna be a wise man. ;D

Thanks, blaze. I'm so frustrated trying to find a way to separate these two heads. I hope the bike actually does run when I finish it.
