Just bought a 3 day ticket and camping pass..... so I'll be K1 camping :)  8) :) for the weekend.... might try to go on the Thursday ahead of the possie.... a SOHC4 flag on a pole would be a good idea in the campground, can't carry a flagpole on the bike tho' !

I am also thinking of heading down Thursday as well. If something comes up I will leave at the butt crack of dawn on Friday. If you have a SOHC flag we can figure something out. The airhead guys always either zip tie their flag to the fence or between a couple of tents. We could also make something work with a spare tent pole and some guy lines.

If you want to get a Thursday Nashville Convoy going give me a call in the next couple weeks. We can work something out. I just mounted up a new rear sneaker on the Suzuki, got the tail trunk mounted, rear mud guard/hugger installed, and newer rear shock mounted up today. I need to get some fork seals ordered and figure out why she is cutting out so bad around 5000rpm but otherwise it is almost ready to go.

Hey, made it to the 2007, and it looks like  again this year. Posted a thread a way back.

The museum is  awesome.

A friend going is wanting to be parked in the rz yamaha  lot, which is probably a small crowd compared to the SOHC 4 zone.

See y'all there.

Thanks to Bill for picking a route for "The Georgia Group"....  He just left our place this morning, and our plans are as follows:

*Meet at Bill's place Thursday AM for 9:00 roll-out.
*Head to Birmingham via US78/Bankhead hwy.  (We are planning a little jaunt on I-85 to get to US78)
*Arrive at Barber mid-afternoon and get a campsite!
*Bill, Travis and Myself will be leaving Saturday afternoon....

PM me or Bill if you want to join us on the ride over!

Good news for camping!
« Reply #30 on: September 15, 2010, 05:06:09 PM »
Howdy folks,

Good news for anyone camping at the park campground and wanting to share a campsite and still be able to park their bike at camp:  We can now have up to 4 folks on a campsite for $25 total.  Thanks to "Bond" and "Carrie" with Zoom Promotions (They are promoting the Vintage Festival), we will be able to get up to 3 additional parking passes for each campsite (If you are on a motorcycle).  Just bring your camp pass to the "will call" desk and ask for three additional "tow vehicle" passes.  Let them know its for your bike, and that you are sharing a campsite.   This will also allow 3-4 folks to share the $25 campsite fee, and free up campsites for others.  Appearently, (Since I've never been) you weren't supposed to drive your bike into the campground unless you have a $25 camping pass.  I contacted the Park, and was able to exchange a few emails with the promoters about this.  I explained that I was trying to avoid buying a campsite for each individual motorcycle just so we can park by our tent in the campground.   They were very kind to say that they would be happy to give out the "tow vehicle" passes provided we kept it to 4 tents, and 4 bikes per site.  They agreed that it was a rule designed to limit car/truck traffic issues.  Right nice folks they are!  I hope that made sense, and will allow a few of us to save some money, and space for other folks.

Bill "Bluto" is leading the way from his place Thursday morning (The 7th) at 9am as he, Travis "Trav-i" and myself head toward the park.  Be sure to PM one of us if you care to join us.  Travis is planning to ride his CL350, so there's no worries about going too fast  ::)  (I couldn't resist...)  It is certainly a cool old bike.

Cheers,

Plans are firming up...........4 of us will leave Wisconsin on Wednesday with a trailer full of bikes. Two to sell and some to ride.  We plan to tour the Corvette factory in Bowling Green on the way.  Should arrive on Thursday PM.  We will have a swap-space in Row J and will look for sohc members on Friday and Saturday at the VJMC display. I'll be riding my 750K3 around the track on Sunday during the noon break along with other VJMC club members as invited guests of the Barber folks.

Well good news and bad news for me.

Good news is I got to go back to work this week after a two month lay off.
Bad news is I can not leave Thursday as I planned. I have to wait until Friday to leave for Barber.

Once again....we will be down there racing.

Also....dont forget...the road racing pits are open to the public and anyone is allowed to walk in to see the race bikes or talk to the racers. We love talking with people about the bikes....except if we have to get ready for the next race. So......in advance....sorry if we have to cut things short to jump on the bike to head out for our grid.

Anyways.......look for us and say HI!
Here are some pics of our spot in the pits.....

Didn't think about THAT! Should tickets be purchased before you get there? I may sound like a yoyo and it's just that I haven't been to an event like this before and am a bit naive about the whole thing. Appreciate some insight here.

The Old Fart's Motorsickle Club (aka Dixie Classic Bike Club) has 6 booths (3 back to back) in the swap meet.  I hope we're on A and B like last year.  There will be a big banner on the tent.  I'll be there most of the time, and am up for any get together.  My Cell number is 205-243-4354;

Hey John.   Yeah, I've still got your cell number from when we met at the Cracker Barrel in West Memphis myself. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Funny, I've been on here for nearly 5yrs and YOU are the only one I've actually met face to face.  Talked to a few (Gordon/Ilbikes, Sam/SamCB750A, Kirk/kirkn & James/droopy) on the phone though.

Gonna be a real treat to meet up with you all (looks like about 20 or so (got at least 1 member of the hondatwins.net coming as well)  8)
