I'm working on a friends CX500 that we got in non running condition. I can't get the thing to fire, or sputter at all. The carbs are absolutly spotless. I would eat dinner out of them. I did a valve adjustment. I'm thinking it is a timing issue. Supposedly the timing isn't adjustable, but it's kicking back when i crack the throttle when i crank it and stopping the starter dead. I don't want to damage anything from the kickbacks.
What could cause this? PO was a complete idiot, so what could he have done to this poor bike? For once i actually miss breaker points.
