Look at these motorcycles

I think these bikes would qualify as being hideous but they are interesting.

I wouldn't say hideous.  I'd be caught on one of these before a trendy new harley.  But, then again I ride my old honda because it's unique and non-trendy.

Well thats a given but they are so out there that ugly is the only word I can come up with. But you know, a few years ago, Honda hada concept bike that could be called a crotch rocket. I liked it a lot and wish they made one.

There's a guy around here I see at the Toy Run every year who rides a Hellcat. Bright Italian red. It's much smaller than you would think- sort of Buell sized but lower. The pictures don't begin to do it justice- I think it's ab-so-blankety/blinkey-lutely gorgeous. And it handles.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

If I had the scratch, I'd own a few of them.  I love anything that is near-pure industrial.  Bare bones functional bike.  Nothing wrong with that.

The earlier Confederates were even more agricultural looking i think - prototypes though.
I think they're awewsome - hope they don't get too refined
(a single 7" headlight would be nice...)

I think it's cool to see people pushing the envelope with new designs. Whether you like them or not, it looks like there's some innovation there. Or they used to work at Buell :)

I really like the bikes...however it would appeal more to me if they put say a.......

cbr1100 engine in it and made it a real bike.

If you want to make a machine that looks like it will eat you for lunch than put a engine in it that would actually fu(k your mother

I think way too much umph is put int v twins...beaten to death

I like those bikes. Probably the reason of using a V-Twin is the link that the engine have with the classic cruiser, the symbol of the traditional american motorcycle. An inline four is a performer but doesn't appeal to the senses (imho)

I kind of like them, but on the Hellcat, it looks like the gas tank is humping the engine.

At my last place of employement (custom v-twin shop) we had more than a few of these bikes
come thru the door. I got to ride my share, and I will say they are a very well built, good handling,
aggressive looking bike, for what it is. I would own one, if the price tag was about $20,000 less.

Don't care for it, myself. But hey, I like the John Deere bike from the other thread, so what do I know? How boring would life be if we all liked the same things?

While I am not a fan of bodywork that totally encloses a motorcycle, I don't find any pleasing lines on those either. I'm just stuck way back in the past.

I look at it like this. I don't really care for the look of these or Sport Bikes but, I like to check
them out to see what kind of innovations they have come up with and sometimes, I get an idea for
something different to do to mine. Thing is we could build our bikes to be more modernized and yet
keep the appeal of what they were when they were built. Does that make sense? I'm talking ideas
like dual front disc brakes in place of single, maybe a monoshock rear instead of 2 shocks, rearsets,
and such as that. the bikes get updated with modern ideas but, you can still see what it was when it
started and they still have that character. Not something that people can go down to the dealer and
buy. That's what I enjoy, mixing up various parts and try to come up with an old style bike that has
that individual look and yet be dependable. I spent more time on this than I intended to. Later on,
                                                     Bill :)

well, eldar, beauty truly is in the eyes of the beholder...to me there is no more beautiful machine than these.

high-tech materials and fully integrated design - these bikes are from the future and will re-define how bikes are made eventually.

besides, who among us wouldn't like an unlimited design budget?

Just what I was thinking, a lot of Britten in there. Personally I don't like it at all but it is innovative and different. Like I said before, if you like it and can afford it and it excites you, go for it, and more power to you

I would not buy one, but it is oddly Retro and modern at the same time. It looks like a CB designed on Acid.
