Has anyone relocated the ignition coils to a new place?

I am mounting a frisco style tank on my cb550f and am wanting to separate the coils and place 1 on either side of the backbone tucked under the tank. Has anyone moved their coils to a different place? I don't mind making longer wires and I will already be rewiring the bike. Just looking for ideas on relocating the coils.

On my 750 chop I mounted them under the carbs, upside down.. seen a few others like that aswell. On my Amen frame they were mounted under the steering stem in a small box.
