I got another one! 1977 CB750K original owner!
« on: August 04, 2010, 08:59:36 AM »
;D I couldn't resist! Original owner, Nice wheels, old tires (original front). Chrome valve cover and side pieces. The tank is very good inside and out. Came with new battery and the front end was redone 2 years ago. Bent handlebars and missing the top of the "kill" switch (I've got it). Someone tried to pry the seat up and bent the seat pan and then re-welded it crooked. Tool kit, owners manual and the receipt for the new bike purchase in 1977 (check out the price in the pictures). It ran last year. The speedo broke and he replaced it, the old one shows a little over 6,000 miles. I'll rebuild the carbs, find a better seat or seat pan, fix the kill switch and put on some new bars. Only $300 and 2 miles away, the guy said he got 50 emails in 12 hours!

$300. Its not 672 miles. The old speedo broke at 6100 I have it. So 6,762. This will now be my every day rider.

50 emails in 12 hours and you got it?  Damn thats some good luck.  Were you the first emailer or just the first that could get there?  Was it a CL score?  Why was he just asking $300-did his wife want it gone and fast?

It was a craigslist ad. He was asking $300 and I gladly paid it. I was the tenth emailer. He posted it at 4:30 and I saw it at 6:15 Saturday evening. I emailed a polite email with a phone number mentioning I lived about 2 miles away. The first guy came over the night before and just wanted to buy the right side exhaust for $150 he told him no way and then called me at 7:00 am Sunday morning. I got lucky, he wanted gone quick for some reason. He bought it when he was in college and obviously did not ride it that much.

right now (I need to buy tires for 3 bikes)! Thanks for offering it to me. I'll see what I can do in the next couple weeks. Thanks SKPT

The first guy should have just bought the entire bike for $300.  Could have had a nice bike for another $150 plus the pipes he wanted.  You scored.

I know, I guess he didn't have a truck and just wanted the pipes.

ZZ...here is a pic of my 77 the day I bought it spring of 77. Very nice indeed. You are a lucky guy. I sold my 77 in 2000 when I got the Wing. Sold it for $1,500. Then got into the early 750's. Man, those appear to be the OEM pipes on there too. Good job snapping that up!!!
