Hey All,
I leave for vacation to Crater Lake next week and my bike i'm taking the stator just went south.
12.78v at 3,000 13.5v at 3,000 with fuse out of headlight.
continuity across all 3 yellow's = good
continuity yellow to ground on all 3 = bad
This is on my gl1200 standard.

I have one board member swinging by going to do all the work. Oh wait I didn't say that. Thank's Terry (cb650)
I ordered an accel stator today, great deal 120 shipped. I just hope its true, and said they had one in stock. I should see it tomorrow night.

I don't know squat about gl stators, but on 750s there should be NO continuity from yellow to ground. Open =good, continuity =bad

Yep, should be no continuity to ground.

If you really wanted more details, you could take an ohm-reading to ground on each leg, not just continuity. This would tell you which of the 3 phases went to ground.

That all being said, 13.5 volts at 3k is liveable... It'd keep the battery charged anyway. But, you'd want to limp HOME from vacation that way, not start OUT on vacation that way.

well get beer at 10 when they open. Grill does work just doesn't go very high.

didn't think but don't have a stator cover gasket. Might be making one if we get that close to going up.

little over 3 hours and engine is out. Now gaskets and belts. Should be on the up tomorrow.

It is running and charging.

now Terry noticed a nail in my rear tire. I need to fix that get front tire and pack. All by monday.
and go for the shake down ride on sunday.
