78 CB750F head rebuild.
« on: August 03, 2010, 07:46:04 PM »
Hey guys, I am about to begin rebuilding the head on my CB750F2/3. I am going to use the Cycle Exchange head rebuild kit.

#F2-007:

is there anything else you would recommend besides the gaskets? Also, is there anything I should get to avoid F2/3 head damage in the future? I have read about the .004 valves guides, should I look for different ones or was it just the material used in 1978? The bike has 29k miles.

Thanks for the help,

John

You should use the bronze guides and Ti retainers.

Hondaman did a writeup of the Cycle Exchange pistons, I believe, at least as far as deburring them prior to installation.  I think that's all I can contribute.
