Does anyone know anything about Mercurys?
« on: August 06, 2010, 11:41:43 AM »
Just picked up a '68 Mercury Park Lane Convertible! It's a pretty sweet ride, and I'd like to tune it up, but I don't know the first thing about the FE 390 V8 that's in there.

Can anyone avail me of the timing procedure, things to check for, etc? I want to put some fresh plugs in there, but I figure that if I'm getting dirty I might as well tighten things up.

Thanks in advance to any old Ford Merc guys who can lend me some wisdom.

HA! I'd peel off a good $50 if there was one available. 1968 Mercury Park Lane.

It's a Chilton Manual, but it's better than nothing, eh?

Indeed, better than nothing.

I swear to god that if I ever get my hands on a proper one I'm scanning it and adding it to the manuals FAQ.

Thanks!
