Hey can anyone tell me if parts from a 72/73 cb550 fit a cb500  ???. Im trying to fix a 73 500 up and need a few things. Im wondering if the electrical system is the same to. Thanks in advance for any Help.

the main harness is different, as the 550 has additional parts.

you can compare them using the diagrams at: http://oldmanhonda.com/MC/WiringDiagrams/MCwiring.php  these are in colour which makes it very easy to trace the various systems & components.

you can also compare to components by checking the part numbers at:

Thanks Tintop. For some reason the link to the site were you can compare part numbers came in as one of those annoying little red crosses in a box. Any other way of getting that link ?

try: http://www.cmsnl.com/.  that is the home page.  follow the links for Honda, it will take you to a page that lists 500 & 550.
