Crank/Rod brgs. 550 or 650?

Paulages discovered the CB650 crank can bolt into the CB550 cases so I suppose that should be my answer. However Honda list the 650 bearings as "426" and the 500/550 were listed as 323.

Some of the 550 bearings have been showing up as NLA, and are now being listed as "426" and available.

Have the 323/426 bearings always been identical?

youll have to have a pair in your hand and look at them?maybe oil holes and grooves were altered?but still swappable between the two engines?

The rod bearings appear to be the same, these were ordered from DSS as 13217-323-003 and arrived as "426." These are for replacement next off season so I can't plastigage until then to know for sure. As I mentioned it also appears (at least on online parts fische) that Honda is superceding to 426 for the rods brgs. so someone must know something?? I find it odd though that identical parts carried two different numbers from 1979 until 2013.

A friend has asked about the crank bearings and I just don't know Dave if there is a slight change between the two. 

I have asked DSS and Powersportspro for their explanations.

the  easy answer is don't buy any honda main bearings.....

at least until I get mine for my 550/650 740cc build (sleeves being fitted as we speak...should be sizing my bearings in a month or so)
