F-1 front fork

I am curious about the mounting locations on the right front fork of my F1.  I know that the PO had dropped the bike and had replaced some of the front end parts.  It looks to me that the right fork on the bike has accommodation for a double disk.  Is this the way they were built or is this a fork from a later ( 77 or later) supersport?  Can I convert this to a double disk with the appropriate parts from a later model?

that is the correct style front end for that bike. they all had the mounts on both legs, even though they never were sold with dual discs.

the later ss had dual disc, but used diferent fork lowers, calipers and rotors. the later ss had its calipers mounted on the rear side of the fork instead of out front.

you can use the mount to add dual discs to your bike. i havent done it, but from what i understand, you will need the correct caliper bracket. the rest should be able to be used from another bike's stock left side.

You can use all the parts from the left side brake to make a right-handed setup.  The problem I found with the right side fork lower was the cast boss for the caliper mount was more on center instead of toward the inside like the left fork.  This meant that there was a shim required of almost 2,5mm to get things to line up correctly.  There was another problem with the caliper tensioning spring bolt being a tad too short because of this, but I just relocated the jam nut to the inner side of the boss to lock it down.  I have a photo somewhere showing this offset thing.  Let me know if you're serious about making the dual-disc conversion, and I'll post some pics of how I made it work.

Steve F is pretty well spot on.
There is no special right hand caliper mount so you will need another LH one. As the mount is slightly off center, you will need three spacers.
I used a washer to fix the tension spring problem.
