Still fawning over my HawkGT

In a perfect world, my project CB750 Phaedrus II would be finished, I'd ride every day and split it equally between the CB, the FJR and my Hawk.

Engine slightly breathed on with a high compression Wiseco 663cc Kit, fresh valve job, relieved air box, DynaJet Carb kit, Relieved exhaust. Kiyo Watanabe 5 gal Carbon Fibre gas tank, National Cycle F16 Sport Shield (not shown), 520 chain and sprocket conversion (down from 525), Performance Werks rear shock, Racetech gold seal emulators with fork set up by JDHordPower.

With a Ventura Luggage System, 55+ MPG makes for a 250+ mile range, on the Corbin Seat and drag bars with napolean bar end mirrors. Nearly 45K miles.

Very Slick....Carbon Fibre Tank is defiantly a conversation piece.

How do you like the National Cycle shield?  How does it do for air deflection?  I was looking at something like that for my Bonneville.

I loved my Hawk GT, too.  A friend brought mine a few years ago and recently asked if I wanted to buy it back.  I thought about it for a few minutes , but I have too many scooters now.

I hate you.The hawk Gt is one of my all time favorite bikes.I sold mine to a buddy 4 years ago when I moved to the wet coast and have been regretting it ever since.I kept my CB instead.my buddy got busted and the cops took the bike.Bummer.
its better to regret something you have done,than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.

Thanks Steve and BB. CBJoe: I love the shield. I tried many, flyshields, and others. This one has the best coverage, stability, flow, etc, I've ever had. First I like the brackets. They fit between the headlight ear and the headlight. Then they lean back against a stop. In my case, coincidentally, they lean against the turnsignal stub. Nothing intrudes into the instrument area, nothing on the bars.

Then 4 bolts (2 each side) hold it to the brackets.


Tested to 105 indicated. Stable and quiet.
Bottom line: highly recommended.

(Forgive the dirt and grunge. Sadly neglected, hope to rectify that soon)
