cb500 oil pressure sender

so my sender went south the other day, so i went to my local honda guy and cried a little when he told me $34 for the #$%*in thing. so internet search was on, i checked a dealer in the area and price was the close, so i took the part number and googled it. and i know this has been said before, but its a honda prelude sensor. 1981-2001. which i confirmed with sf honda, not that it closely matches, it is the exact same sender. so off to kragen, and sure as #$%* $9 later i found one that fits and works... just thought id share since what i read so far never gave me a solid answer! this one is a hair taller but fits under the cover just fine!

ive used a cheap one from an auto parts store aswell, its only an on/off switch, the threshold or pressure setting might be different but it works ok.

thats what i thought was funny... i looked up the honda part number in the fiche and came up with

37240-P13-013  (replaces 35500-333-014)

well i went to honda of s.f. (cages only) and did a reverse part # look up, and it came up as the honda prelude sender.

i kinda feel bad cause i love supporting the little guys, like my local honda guy... but $34, especially since i just found out my bike is going to continue to be down till i can afford the correct sprockets and chain... sorry charlie!
