Clearing the side cover area.
« on: August 11, 2010, 05:25:20 AM »
I want to get the rear triangle where the oil tank and battery go totally clear and see through. So I need to move the oil tank and battery / electrics elsewhere. I've been searching for threads on this as I am certain there must be some somewhere. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I know the battery often goes under the rear bubble but where does the oil tank go?

I've seen a few where the fuel tank has been stretched rearward to house an oil tank, oil lines reaching downward from there are inconspicuous.  Also tail-mounted oil tanks have been done, but the lines get pretty long from there. Several here have constructed their own oil tanks to fit near the center of the frame, capacity is a concern as well as chain clearance if you go that route.

i put mine in the upper rear of the triangle, i would have liked to totally hide it but i would have had to incorporate it into the fuel tank (battery under seat).
im pretty happy with how it turned out.
Funny thing about regret is...... its better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't done.

Hi Zaskar, check out the white bike in this link, the black line at the front of the "triangle is actually a flat oil tank.....I think it is the best solution i have seen so far.
