Don't think this has been previously posted. Sorry, if it has. These people are something else. NO, if I could only figure out what that was. ::)

Probably just a way to try to keep them on the air. Just MY thoughts. What are YOURS? ???

they have had their 15, let some other putz's clog the airwaves for awhile. I would not own one of those monstrosities they call a motorcycle, things are death traps, IMHO.

seems like the whole thing was planned.  Ratings were dropping so they stir things up to make it interesting... ::)  Not that it really is, they are all pretty insufferable.

Those dudes could barely be called assemblers. Some of the things I have seen them do to "fix" a bike are appaling. The fact that they have the people that design the carbs fly in to tune them is hilarious. Those guys are nothing but a big fat joke, IMO. Their bikes are hideous and not functional, so whats the point?

Pawn Stars IS pretty bad, but I like to see some of the cool stuff that they get!

I actually saw 15 minutes of American Chopper for the first time last week while I was drinking...er eating lunch at a local pub. ;) ;D ;D From what I saw I'd say the show should be called Idiot vs. Idiot Spawn. JMHO

I watched it initially for a season or two, but it has run its course.  You may not like the clown bikes they build, but Jr. is actually pretty good at what he does and has some real talent as an artist.  Sr. is out of his depth, couldn't build a bike by himself if his life depended on it, and kept around only to provide an anchor for the contrived family conflicts.

This new twist is like "Jesse James is a Dead Man" - another beating of the dead horse to see if it has a few more $$$ in her.  These guys' 15 minutes of fame needed to end a few hours ago.

Yeah, you watch, There'll be folks lining up to watch that crap and they'll live on for a bit longer. At FIRST, I thought it as pretty good, then the fusing on TV. Behind the scene, the are probably Laughing at the people who are preciously watching for ALL of the RIGHT reasons.

+1

I get the impression all their little personal battles are more staged than professional wrestling.

I've watched it once or twice when there was absolutely nothing else to do.   OTOH, Letterman sent Biff Henderson to their shop for a TV bit.  It got a little amusing when he shot up the old man's office window with a paint ball gun.

Slightly OT, but has anyone here seen the "Paul Jr. Designs Coleman® RoadTrip® Grill" in person?

I have, and it's a piece of crap!  :D

It's a wobbly, thin metaled, fake stamped aluminum diamond plate (who fakes diamond plate, ffs?) crap finish, crap paint, $200 piece of crap grill.

Oh, and it's small.

And crappy.

That is all :D

He designed it.

Colman made it in China with crap materials.

Yeah, Yeah, he was involved.
   Bad business decision for sure.

Unrideable pieces of crap.
Lame overcooked drama.
That show jumped the shark season 1.
 ::)

Pawn Stars at this point still amuses me.  Chumlee is a genius, he should just stop eating paint chips though.   :D :D :D
There is some pretty cool stuff that comes in, and their restoration guys are making a good dime off of them.

China eh?

I've got an old Coleman cookstove that was given to me.  It's pretty ugly but works and is solid.

OTOH, we're letting China kill us.   It wasn't that long ago they were putting melamine in dog food (perhaps other stuff as well).   It was ending up in premium brands that I was under the impression used good ingredients to formulate their foods.   Friggin' brand X is darn near as good as some of the premium brands.  I'm a vet - this stuff hit too close to home.  Now I can't make food recommendations  with confidence.

Yeah, and the toys and kids art supplies with lead, cadmium and gallium in higher-than-trace levels.
Scary stuff.
They really do make crap.

Chumly is a hoot.

I can't get over the way people dump prized family treasures for less than half the value though and then go blow it at the casinos or on a date.

I prefer Antiques Roadshow and American Pickers over these guys.   AP's fondness for vintage bikes is a plus.

Jr. and Sr. would have been out of business years ago (or at least not doing anywhere near as well) had it not been for the chopper hype that the Discovery channel latched onto with Jesse James.  The only entertaining part of the show, originally, was Mikey.  He was hilarious, but in the beginning he also wanted nothing to do with the family business.

I just saw the promo for the Jr. vs. Sr. show for the first time tonight, and the first thing it reminded me of was the Flavor Flav/ Bridgitte Nielsen "Flavor of Love" show that was a contrived spin-off of another crap "reality" show called "The Surreal Life".

It's #$%* born of #$%*, and nothing good will ever come of it.

Personally I think all the bikes they make are kinda ugly.  Granted its cool with them fabricating a lot of things but other than that, the bikes look heavy and hard to steer and have TOO much detail.
All glory to the hypno-toad.
