Clutch plate wear limit on 550
« on: August 12, 2010, 07:20:20 PM »
In the clutch section of my factory manual it says 2.7 is the factory thickness, with a service limit of 2.4mm.

In the Technical Data section it states 3.3 from the factory, service limit at 3.0mm.

So which is it? all mine measure at 2.5 or 2.6. I'm either in the clear or way beyond service limits.

I can see where you've been led astray. The 3.3 & 3 spec is for a 500.
Scroll down to page 141 & you'll see the spec for 550. 2.6 & 2.3.

[Edit] It looks to me like you are in the clear.
Cheers.
