Finally finished school!
« on: August 10, 2010, 12:47:36 PM »
Hi all

Just wanted to update you guys about what I've been up to since I haven't been here a lot lately.  I am now a Southeastern Louisiana University alumni.  I have taken up photography as a hobby and have scheduled some leisure photography classes.

Here are some of my recent photos:

They are not my typical dead-on shots of Cassandra...  kind of artsy.

Congratualtions on this milestone.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Congratulations. Are you strictly digital (vs. film) in your pursuit of photography? I'm almost exclusively a B/W fan, so I like those shots?

I'm just playing with digital.  I have a Canon T1i (my first DSLR), and was previously shooting with a Canon S3IS.  So it was kind of a big step up.  Just have to work on perspective....  A lot...  and composition.... A lot.

You have taken some great pictures.

The white car in your Austin pics is a Lincoln, 63' or so, with suicide doors.

Nice shots in your Flickr album. Perspective control is very difficult if you can't tilt or shift the film plane and accompanying focus control with the ability to shift or tilt the lens plane. Maybe someday you will get into large format (permits both) film. Yes, this is a blatant promotion of film photography, just trying to keep the film market from shrinking further.  :)

My father had(/has) an "Electro 35".  He took lots of great slides with it.  I think he got it from somebody who had military connections with Japan in the late 60's early 70's.  It was a high quality instrument that he speaks fondly of today.  I helped him purchase a refurb Nikon D40 recently and I hope to get him "back in the game".
