Everybody loves pictures. 75 cb750k
« on: August 15, 2010, 07:34:23 PM »
Thought I would share my new bike. It was advertised as "just need the carbs tuned". It ran, but poorly. I was going to pull the motor and replace gaskets anyway, so that's what I did. What I found was an 836 kit. Cool! ....with a holed #2 piston. Bummer! So, I threw together a top end from stuff I had laying around (ported K7 head, F2 "410" pistons) with stock valve-train. It originally had heavy duty springs and titanium retainers (score!); saving those for a special motor.
Anyway, it runs absolutely awesome! So good that it is almost boring. Not!

I added grips as it had these weird Harris grips with what looked like french fries on them.  ??? It came with a gutted Kerker exhaust system. It sounded good, but a bit too loud for my taste. So, I put on the Yosh replica I had hanging in the rafters. It had some surface rust here and there, but it all came off very easily. After I get my other projects near completion, this bike is getting a full tear-down and rebuild, possibly to restored condition. Of course, the Lesters will stay.

Here it is:
